Ipswich Town have finalised the capture of Paraguayan international Julio Enciso from French side Strasbourg.
The 22-year-old forward has committed to a five-year contract at Portman Road after a transfer package potentially worth £26m was agreed between the two clubs.
Enciso becomes the club’s 12th acquisition of the current transfer window and links up once again with head coach Gary O’Neil, who previously worked with the player during their time together at Brighton.
This marks the forward’s second stint in Suffolk, having arrived on loan from Brighton for the latter stages of the club’s 2024/25 Premier League season, which ended in relegation.
The South American completed his move just an hour after another Strasbourg arrival, Abdoul Ouattara, who joined for £17m earlier on the same day.
Enciso represented Paraguay at the World Cup during the summer, finding the net against Germany during the knockout phase of the tournament.
He has earned 37 senior caps for his country.
With this addition, Ipswich’s summer recruitment expenditure stands at approximately £150m, with the new-look squad preparing to face Sunderland at Portman Road on Saturday for their season opener.
The club’s complete summer 2026 transfer activity began on July 1 with the permanent signing of Cedric Kipre from Reims for £2.1m, followed by Chuba Akpom’s loan-to-permanent move from Ajax for £7m.
July 8 saw Emersonn arrive from Toulouse in a £24m deal, while July 21 brought two further additions in Kayden van Oevelen from FC Volendam (£3.4m) and Abdul Fatawu from Leicester (£20m).
Issa Diop joined from Fulham on July 22 for £8.5m, with Daizen Maeda completing a £8m switch from Celtic on July 25.
Kjell Scherpen arrived from Union Saint-Gilloise on July 28 for £8.5m, before Florentino Luis joined from Burnley for £16m on August 4.
Sasa Lukic was acquired from Fulham for £9m on August 7, before the double Strasbourg swoop on August 17 brought Ouattara and Enciso to Portman Road in combined deals worth £43m.
