Julio Enciso returns to Ipswich Town in £26m deal from Strasbourg

Ipswich Town have finalised the capture of Paraguayan forward Julio Enciso from French side Strasbourg.

The 22-year-old attacker has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at Portman Road after reaching an agreement worth up to £26m.

He becomes the second arrival from Strasbourg within 60 minutes, following the acquisition of versatile midfielder Abdoul Ouattara for £17m, with the pair now linking up again with manager Gary O’Neil.

Enciso is back in Suffolk for a second spell, having spent the second half of the club’s 2024/25 Premier League campaign fighting against relegation while on loan from Brighton.

The 37-time capped international arrives having turned heads for Paraguay at the summer’s World Cup, notching a goal against Germany during the knockout phase.

The 12th acquisition of this transfer window pushes Town’s summer outlay close to £150m ahead of Saturday’s season opener against Sunderland at Portman Road.
