Paraguayan forward Julio Enciso has expressed his delight at returning to Ipswich Town.
The talented South American attacker thrilled supporters during his temporary stint at the Suffolk club, having arrived from Brighton for the second half of the club’s Premier League survival battle in the 2024/25 season.
The 26million switch from French side Strasbourg has now been finalised, with the player penning a five-year deal and reuniting with Gary O’Neil at Portman Road.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Enciso stated he was overjoyed to be back at the club. He revealed he thoroughly enjoyed his previous temporary stay and took great pleasure in witnessing the team secure promotion back to the top flight last term. The opportunity to once again work under the manager at a prestigious club such as Ipswich was something he was eagerly anticipating. He added that he could not wait to reconnect with the fans.
O’Neil commented that the club was thrilled to secure the permanent signing of the Paraguayan international. Supporters would already be aware of his abilities from his previous temporary spell during the club’s last Premier League campaign, and the manager himself was pleased to be working alongside him once more following their time together at Strasbourg during the previous season. The young forward possesses the rare ability to produce magic from nothing, having demonstrated this quality throughout his career, including during the World Cup in the summer. The club was overjoyed to have him join and were eager to see him in action.
